Yozo Kelenmi
precision and instability

Emerging from the energetic Harajuku art scene of the mid-2020s, Yozo immediately stood out with his perfect technique, quiet demeanor, and artistic vision. Beyond his immaculate technique, Yozo’s artwork is imbued with suggested narratives that create intrigue. Behind the powerful manga motifs hidden in the background lie worn, story-filled details that hint at a created universe behind each piece, as if each painting were a panel in a vast post-Shibuya punk epic.

Post-Shibuya punk combines early 2000s Tokyo street culture with punk rebellion, graffiti, gangs, futuristic grit, and Y2K futurism. Motifs suggest ongoing rebellion against establishment structures in a near-future urban setting. Although each painting remains a standalone work, Yozo’s deep understanding of the motifs and style of the genre suggests an interconnective narrative that creates a universe behind his work. This creates intrigue and immersion that compete with his flawless technique, composition, and execution. The result is work that encapsulates the zeitgeist of the emerging post-Shibuya scene brilliantly, better than any other artist.

His debut exhibition, What If, opened in September 2025 and immediately sold out. Some of Tokyo’s, Hong Kong’s, and Taiwan’s wisest collectors moved quickly to acquire his work.

We are working closely with Yozo to bring his unique vision to the world. It is a rare pleasure to collaborate with such a dedicated and insanely talented artist. We look forward to bringing our experience to his career to help him develop his rich world and position himself in the upper tier of emerging Japanese artists of his generation.
